Build a productivity stack: Habits, Goals, and Deep Work

Tasks tell you what to do today. Habits, Goals, and Deep Work tell you who you are becoming — and protect the focus to get there.

Todo handles the urgent. But urgency alone does not build a career, a body, or a skill. You need three slower layers underneath: daily habits that compound, goals that set direction, and deep work sessions that protect uninterrupted focus.

Start with Habits for the actions you repeat. Morning pages, inbox zero, stretching, reading — if it should happen most days, it belongs in Habits with a streak you can see. Habits are your baseline. They keep identity stable when projects get chaotic.

Goals lift habits into milestones. Saving for a trip, learning a language, shipping a side project — break each goal into steps in the Goal app and revisit progress weekly. When a goal feels stuck, ask whether the daily habits supporting it are still tracked or have gone invisible.

Deep Work is where hard problems get solved. Block ninety minutes, start a session, and let Ovvash log the time. Pair it with Todo: before the session, pick one task. After the session, mark progress and note blockers. Over time you will see which goals consume deep work hours and which only live on wish lists.

Together, these modules answer three questions: What do I do every day? What am I building this quarter? When do I think without interruption? Answer all three and Todo stops feeling like a firehose.
